FIFA 23 Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer Revealed: Video Review
FIFA 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, and Windows PC launching on September 30 got its official gameplay trailer revealed. EA Sports finally revealed new details of the game from the trailer. So here are what you should expect, and watch the gameplay video.
According to PlayStation's blog post, FIFA 2023 will feature HyperMotion 2 which takes visual data from the real-world football matches played by teams in Zaragoza, Spain. So it combines actual football matches 11v11 recordings with machine learning to deliver realistic movement in FIFA 23 for the men's and women's teams.
Furthermore, EA Sports added new animations and over 500 crowd chants to help energize the atmosphere in FIFA 23. The video talks about empowering improvements across all the gameplay areas — with over “6000 new true-to-football animations transferred from the pitch directly into the game,” says the video.
FIFA 23 will feature two major Women's Leagues which are the FA Women's Super League and the French Division 1 Féminine. In order to capture accurate data with the HyperMotion 2 technology as they did for the men's teams, EA developers got two women's teams to play 11-a-side matches and complete drills.

As for the gameplay, while dribbing the player can change directions quickly by interrupting the initial animation. To emphasize further, while dribbling, upon moving the character to the right, players can quickly switch to the left, thereby canceling the initial dribbling animation.
FIFA 23 comes with redesigned set-piece mechanics - Penalty kicks now feature a circle around the ball, Free kicks now allow you to pinpoint the exact place on the ball you're about to strike, and you can now have a player lie down behind the wall during free kicks to avoid any ground shots. Goalkeepers' views can be obstructed by a player, which will in turn affect their reaction time to a striker's shot.
