WhatsApp Status Quick Reactions Coming Soon: How it Works

WhatsApp is testing quick reactions for status updates on its Android app, this development comes not long after the launch of emoji reactions on the platform. Here's what you should know regarding this new feature.

WhatsApp Status Quick Reactions

WhatsApp status quick reactions are quite similar to Facebook Messenger and Instagram status reactions. This new feature for WhatsApp is currently available only on WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.16.10 update.

How does the status update reaction work? When a contact updates their status with either a media or text, you can simply share responses about the status with up to eight easily accessible emojis such as love, laughter, and sadness without leaving any comments on the status. This is quite similar to the new text reaction on your contact chats.

To be specific, the eight emojis users can react with on status are; a smiling face with heart eyes, a crying face, a person with folded hands, clapping hands, a face with tears of joy, a face with an open mouth, a party popper, and the hundred points emoji. So when the contact checks your reply, it will be a small emoji shown on their tagged status, rather than a text or actual emoji message as usual.
