WhatsApp Profile Photos Will Be Displayed in Group Chats: Reports

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that allows users in a group chat to see members with enabled profile pictures for all / contacts to be seen beside their phone number without having to open their profile to see their profile picture.

WABetaInfo confirmed this new WhatsApp feature that allows users to see profile pictures of users in a group chat easily when they send a text, compared to the current display that shows only the member's phone number or name (when saved). This feature is currently under development on WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.18.0.72 version.

This new update for iOS devices comes not long after a report surfaced that WhatsApp is working on a feature for iOS WhatsApp users that will allow them to view status updates within the chat list. On clicking the user's display picture, their status update will be shown, so there will be no need to go to the separate status view.

Further updates coming to WhatsApp discussed earlier on this site include the ability for users to undo a deleted message within a short period of time before it is totally removed from the chat. Stay tuned for more social media news updates.
