WhatsApp Working on a Hide Phone Number Feature for Group Chats
WhatsApp is working on a new privacy-focused feature, this time it is a hide number feature that prevents users' phone numbers from being shown to others on specific group chats. WhatsApp is reportedly working on new features as well, here is what you should know.
As reported by WABetaInfo, the `phone number sharing` feature has been spotted in development on WhatsApp for Android beta 2.22.17.23. This is available on Google Playstore, but it is in the beta program, and still in development as it is expected to undergo changes before the final release.

Users can access the new phone number sharing feature through the WhatsApp privacy section on their Android app. This option will be deactivated by default, so when enabled before the user joins a group, their phone number will be automatically hidden from all members.
Furthermore, WhatsApp is working on a new method that protects users from malicious logins to their account - extra security to the already functioning 2-factor-authentication. This new login approval feature notifies the user when someone tries to log in to their account from a different device, so the user needs to approve or decline the login attempt on the currently logged-in device.
And finally, WhatsApp is working on another privacy-focused feature, I have talked about this in an article previously - that is the ability to hide a user's online status. This feature is still under development, so it is not yet available to beta testers.
