Samsung Acknowledges Camera Blur Issue on Galaxy S23 and S23+: Fix Coming Soon

Samsung has now acknowledged this problem on its European community page and assured users that a software update will address the issue. The company also provided an explanation for the cause of the blurring and suggested a workaround to prevent it.

According to Samsung's community page, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ suffer from a slight blurriness around the subject in close-up photos. The company attributed this to the bright aperture of the rear wide-angle camera, which results in a blurred background. To rectify the problem, Samsung plans to release a software update that will resolve the camera blur issue.

In the meantime, Samsung has shared some temporary solutions for users experiencing the camera blur problem on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. The company advises taking pictures from a slightly greater distance or holding the phone vertically during photography. It warns that holding the phone horizontally or at an angle may cause the background to appear blurry.

Aside from the camera blur issue, Samsung's Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ offer an array of impressive features. Launched alongside the Galaxy S23 Ultra, these phones feature a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a variable refresh rate ranging from 48Hz to 120Hz. The touch sampling rate reaches 240Hz in game mode, providing a smooth and responsive experience. Powered by a modified version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, these devices deliver exceptional performance.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ boast a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Additionally, they offer a 12-megapixel front-facing camera, ensuring high-quality selfies and video calls.
