Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra US Unleashes Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC on Geekbench!
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra models, is set to be officially unveiled in the early part of next year. A listing on the Geekbench benchmarking site has recently surfaced, allegedly showcasing the US variant of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, identified by the model number SM-S928U.
This listing hints at the presence of the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC exclusively in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, possibly making it the only model in the series with this chipset. In contrast, the standard Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are expected to come with either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC or the Exynos 2400 SoC, depending on the region.

On Geekbench, a Samsung smartphone bearing the model number SM-S928U has made an appearance, presumably the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This listing reveals the utilization of the Android 14 operating system. According to the benchmark information, the phone will be powered by an octa-core chipset known as "Pineapple" with a CPU configuration of 1+3+2+2.
The benchmark results indicate a prime CPU core with a maximum clock speed of 3.30GHz, three cores operating at 3.15GHz, two cores capped at 2.96GHz, and two more cores running at up to 2.27GHz. These CPU specifications and the codename are strongly associated with the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
The benchmark results also display 2,234 points in single-core testing and 6,807 points in multi-core testing. The listing suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra might be equipped with 6.91GB of RAM, which could be marketed as 8GB. The listing's timestamp is October 12.
Notably, these performance figures demonstrate a substantial improvement compared to the previous generation Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and scored 1,521 and 4,689 points in single and multi-core tests, respectively.
Early reports indicate that the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are likely to incorporate an Exynos chip for global markets, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature a Snapdragon chip across all markets. The entire Galaxy S23 series was launched globally with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
According to previous leaks, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is anticipated to sport a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its camera setup may include a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto shooter, a 12-megapixel third sensor, and an additional 10-megapixel sensor on the rear.
For selfies and video calls, a 12-megapixel front camera might be in place. The device is rumored to be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging.
